Eugene "Tripp" Manes III is a character in The CW 2019 television series Roswell, New Mexico. He is one of the soldiers who first arrive at the scene of the 1947 UFO Crash and confronts an alien woman. Tripp is portrayed by Jason Behr.

Appearance[]

Personality[]

Diligent and a no nonsense kind of guy.

History[]

In June 1947, Tripp arrived at the site of a UFO crash at Foster Homestead Ranch. He had a confrontation with an alien woman who used her powers to steal a truck and get away. While she was driving away in the truck, Tripp saw the truck was loaded with "eggs" carrying children.[2]

Tripp later tracked down Nora and Louise to the Long Farm. His brother Harlan Manes killed Roy Bronson and burned down the farm.[3]

In an 1987 Flashback scene it was highly indicated that Tripp was going to indoctrinate his nephew Jesse to be pro alien or least tolerable of them before his brother ceased those plans.

Plot[]

In 2020, Flint Manes leaves a classified file for Alex Manes, which contains Tripp's report of the night of the 1947 crash. Alex speaks with his father Jesse Manes about it in the hospital, and he shares the report with Michael Guerin.[2] Alex later realizes that Tripp is Eugene Manes III.[3]

After speaking more with his father, Alex finds an old clue hidden at the Crashdown Cafe that suggests that Tripp might have been helping the aliens rather than hunting them, and he might have helped Louise after the raid. He shares this theory with Michael.[4]
