Plot[]
Opening: In July 1947, Lt. Col. Harlan Manes oversees a recorded autopsy of an alien from the crash at Roswell. The woman has an alien symbol on her hand.
Act 1: Liz is still struggling with her anger over Rosa's death and focuses on her work at Roswell Community Medical. Jenna Cameron wakes up in bed with Max and they establish that it's still just a casual hook up. Sergeant Manes has texted Jenna, asking for her to work with him. At the Wild Pony, Maria is training a new employee when her mother Mimi comes in, talking about the aliens coming to attack. At the sheriff's department, Liz has a follow-up questioning about the shooting, and Jenna asks how Max showed up to help, but Liz doesn't have an answer. Max is also questioned about the shooting, but he isn't cleared to return to work. Liz runs into Isobel as she leaves and Isobel tries to apologize for killing Rosa, but Liz is still angry and thinks that Isobel could blackout and hurt someone again.
Act 2: At Roswell Community Medical, Liz is back to work when Alex visits her, asking her to check in with Maria. At the Wild Pony, Mimi is still talking about the alien attack when Liz and Alex join them, and Mimi mistakes Liz for Rosa. Maria tells Liz about her mother's mental deterioriation, and Liz suggests having "a full on Mama DeLuca day." At Sanders' Auto, Michael goes into his trailer to find Isobel sulking after her encounter with Liz. Isobel is now worried about it happening again too, but Michael tries to assure her that he won't let it. At Roswell Community Medical, Max questions Wyatt Long, who's in traction from being shot, and Wyatt claims he doesn't remember anything about the shooting. Jenna makes Max leave and tells Wyatt to write down his account of events. Wyatt unconsciously draws a symbol that matches the one Jenna saw tattooed on Max's back shoulder.
Act 3: At the Crashdown Cafe, Liz, Mimi, Maria, and Alex are having their day. Maria and Liz step aside, and Mimi reads Alex's aura, telling him about the day his father "learned too much" and she mentions the same thing happened to Jim Valenti, but she loses the thought before Alex can make more sense of it. Liz and Maria talk on the roof, with Maria reminiscing about her mother growing up. Max goes home, and Michael is waiting for him to talk to him about Isobel. They fight because Max is still upset about him and Isobel sending Liz away ten years earlier, and Max points out that Michael would hate him just as much if Max had sent Alex Manes away. Later, Max talks to Sheriff Valenti on the phone, trying to get approved for work, but she refuses. Noah visits, thinking Isobel would be there, and they talk about his relationship with Isobel, and Max suggests splitting up might be for the best. Meanwhile, Liz, Maria, Mimi, and Alex have gone to the drive-in. Mimi reads Liz's palm, but again mistakes her for Rosa, but Liz goes with it and comes up with the life Rosa might have had if she hadn't died.
Act 4: Noah calls Max and informs him that he can't testify against Wyatt because Wyatt's defense team will go after Max, and to discredit Max they will bring up that he's been protecting Arturo Ortecho from deportation. At the drive-in, Mimi again mistakes Liz for Rosa and brings up that Isobel was "hunting" Rosa and that Isobel confessed something to her that Rosa was thinking of telling. Liz thinks this is why Isobel killed her. Jenna visits Max to bring him stuff he left at her place, and they have a beer and Jenna asks about the tattoo on his shoulder. He says it's just a doodle, but she shows him the picture that Wyatt Long drew and Max walks off. At the drive-in, Mimi again gets confused about Independence Day and Liz leaves to check on an experiment, and Maria decides it's time to let her mother go to a care facility. At Roswell Community Medical, Max confronts Wyatt, but Liz catches and stops him. They fight, and Max realizes that Liz is experimenting with the samples she got from him. He asks what she's doing, and she says she's trying to create a weapon.
Act 5: Liz admits that she's working on a way to neutralize Isobel's powers, and Max walks out. Max goes to Sanders' Auto to talk to Michael and suggests that the three of them leave, telling him that Liz is working on an alien poison. Isobel interrupts and says that Liz is right, and running won't help. At Roswell Community Medical, Max has gotten Kyle to pull a favor and get Isobel a room where she'll be locked in as a danger to herself and others. Max and Isobel hug and say they love each other.
Act 6: At the Wild Pony, Maria is having a drink alone when Michael shows up. She says they're closed and Michael nearly leaves, but Maria lets him stay for a drink as long as he doesn't talk. Maria starts crying and Michael hugs her. At Roswell Community Medical, Noah arrives for Isobel, and he tells Max that he's not giving up her. Max visits Liz at her lab and tells her that Isobel is locked up, and he asks her to hold off using her serum, but Liz is getting rid of the serum because she doesn't want to use her skills to hurt people, not even Isobel. Max asks her to hold onto it anyway in case she needs to protect herself. At the sheriff's department, Jenna finally texts back to Jesse Manes: "Look into Max Evans."
