Plot summary[]
Isobel is horrified at Tezca's death. Clyde brings everyone to their knees and gloats. He leaves.
Isobel shows Max a memory that Tezca shared with her right before she died. The blue flame can be used to control crystals that give life to Oasis. Max's his blue flame abilities mean he can revive Oasis.
The friends confront Clyde. They put up an impressive fight and Max wields the blue flame. However, Clyde knocks down each one. He takes the fruit from Liz's hand and powers up the console so he can step through the portal home. However, he cannot enter. Liz reveals that when he grabbed the prickly fruit, she secretly injected him with a serum. This makes his mark from Jones reappear, meaning he cannot pass through the portal. He burns up and dies.
Isobel asks what's next and Michael suggests a wedding. They prepare for the ceremony and Michael is so excited and nervous that his telekinesis keeps knocking things over.
The happy couple
Michael and Alex marry in a small, romantic ceremony. They celebrate. Liz tells Rosa she is no longer afraid of "the other shoe" dropping and she shows Rosa the engagement ring. Maria and Dallas share a romantic dance and Dallas asks her out.
Max tells Liz that he has to return to Oasis because Maria's vision showed him it is dying but his blue flame can save it. Liz has the engagement ring hidden behind her back. Later, she tells Allie about it. Allie tells her that she has a cure for the addictive parts of the alien mist. She admits she loves how much Shivani loved their daughter and wishes that Shivani would let her go in peace. Liz recommends that Allie tell Shivani this.
Max gives Michael another wedding gift and tells him and Isobel he's returning to Oasis. He gives Liz a badge and tells her it's up to her to protect their family.
Dallas decides not to pursue a romantic relationship now. He wants to visit Oasis and learn about where he comes from. Allie visits Shivani and holds her hand.
Max tells Liz he knows she was going to propose. She shows him the ring. He puts it on her finger and says, "This is me saying hell yes." He gives her a turquoise necklace. "Love is a constant state of breaking and remaking," Liz says, accepting his choice to leave. She says they'll marry when he returns. They kiss.
Max and Dallas leave together. Max turns to look at Liz. Then the portal closes.
